Rofl!

Dude I love you! ;D

So. .

I've been keeping it incognito for a while, don't worry. . All your stuff is on my iPod before you can even post about it anywhere or tell me. I keep watch over your page everyday >_>. Everything was good, only thing I'd say is it ended a tad suddenly for me. . Nothing big, masterpieces as always man! You still usin' reason? o.o

KgZ responds:

<3 you baby

And actually no, this time I only used Logic Pro. Reason is starting to not cut it, especially in the production department so I think I'm only going to use it for synths from now on.

Hmmm.

I'll say, for what it's worth - I'm very happy to see you take all our comments on board so well, and make such positive changes! Super props for that!

I'll start by saying, the drums sound great now. Just maybe consider bringing them to the front (raising the volume of them all). . Next bit is only me being EXTRA PICKY xD. drum sounds, (especially the snare) don't really drive the song forward enough. . maybe look for the "amen break" drum kit? That being said, doesn't matter too much. Great improvement from v1 and v2 indeed!

One more thing regarding the drums at the beginning before the speedup, maybe consider changing the drum pattern a bit as I hear the snare rush doesn't have quite the same effect as when the tempo is quicker. You can disregard that if you don't think not (this is just Anwar talking)

There were a few filter sweeps that were too highly resonant with the filter and seeing as I listen to music with headphones I felt myself turning the volume down at times (even if it was only for a few seconds). - Both drums and synths. I'd suggest maybe just turning the Q/Filter Res down just a tad just for the end of the filter buildup.

Synths were fine, I've got nothing overly bad to say about them. Just that pluckish thing maybe turn it down just a bit (only slightly) it seems to over power the drums quite a bit when it's soloing with the drums. Maybe you may wanna pair it up with a soft string synth for effect? o.o <--- just me being me there.

Structure was awesome, kept me going throughout. NO COMPLAINTS THERE! :D Let me just say I loved the changes in chord progressions and notation on interval. Very nice there! :D The ending made me chuckle with the glass breaking, pretty cool. I also loved the way you kind of had nothing playing for a very short time and then came back in again.

Great improvement indeed, this is what makes reviewing stuff worthwhile. Thanks for sharing this, I'll download this and dance to this on the bus hehehehehehe.

The vocals gone? Oh well, doesn't make a difference xD.

thx, your "EXTRA PICKY" reviews are what makes people improve.

funny, i listen with headphones too but it doesn't sound bad for me :/

pairing the pluck with a soft string.... nice idea there.

O.o the glass breaking was at the start not at the end, there was a hit at the end.

Dancing on the bus sounds fun :p

Makeing the drums louder is a great idea \o/
thx again.

Bouncy ;D

Very well put together, and I liked the way it moved quickly. There is no end to what you can put together is there now? =P

Nice all round, but there was few things that came to my attention. First, it seemed to have very little lower frequencies, and as a result of that what I heard was very tinny indeed. A knock on effect of this was that when that lead saw synth reached high notes it was really hard on my ears (and bare in mind I wear headphones when I'm listening to music).

That lead synth wasn't 100% to my taste (around ~1:42, for around 5 seconds. Seemed to be lacking something in my opinion.

I think the song finished way too quickly aswell, it was just like building up and then it just kinda faded >_>. .

Nice overall, happy birthday BOUNC3.

Haha kidding, your mix of styles was amazing. Really was not what what I was expecting, I think some parts seemed to be a bit louder than others which was the only issue with me, but that still doesn't take the 10 away from you!

One thing I also noticed was at the beginning there was some bassline that seemed to a bit towards the higher freqs, you still get 10! Like I CAN'T STOP DANCING! :D :D :D :D I love you! (in a musical way xDDDD)

Drums pwned, loved all the little things you did with it.

The small parts of each section went together really well, and yeah I'll say it pwns again. That little slow down/speed up bit was epic. . . 11/10.
WHAT THERE'S NO BUTTON FOR 11?! D: D: D: D: D:

I loved it ;D I can't really critique it, because I can't fault it in any significant ways.

hahah sweet. glad you enjoyed it, always trying to mix it up a bit for the next track. thanks for the review! [ill probably check out ur stuff tomorrow, noticed you have submissions :)]

Getting there.

I'll start by saying this is better than the last version I reviewed, so well done there.

I still hear the issue with the drums, granted it's not as bad as the first version of this but it's still pretty bad. How is this sound coming out when the rest seems so much better?

Drum patterns were good, I liked the little things you added from the last time, nice one there. I also think the drum sounds you're using at the moment aren't really the best as they're not very 'powerful/fat' enough really. oh and that little gap of silence was pretty sick, caught me off guard =P.

The melodic section was much better, I think it's because you removed the choir from the mix and left it at the beginning that it seemed to sound a lot better, the extra sections were pretty neat too. The pluck was a nice touch :D, That synth that came in at like ~2:56. . . What the heck was that? I suppose it could have been random, but it was just off key and was waaaay too loud ):. It also came in near the end, didn't really seem to go with the whole melody whatsoever to me. The fact that it was loud meant it pretty much over powered everything else which was a real shame.

The seemed to be a nice structure in this one, something that kept me going, which was really nice too. Vocals were fine, but I liked the ones in the last edit xD. (What am I like eh?)

Really and truly, it's a good improvement - and it's good to see you've improved, but there's still quite a bit to go for me to consider this perfect. Very well done, it really wasn't what I was expecting at all :D ~I HAVE MY EYE ON YOU (kidding)

jpgregorio responds:

thanks, that synth at 2:56 was randomly made, i wasn't very happy with it. i gonna try to change the drums and sort the issue with it.^^

Good

I think it was a bit rushed, and maybe moved a bit too quickly, nice attempt though.

I hear use of dynamics, which is good and can give the piece more depth and feeling, but there was one section where the higher notes seemed to be a bit too loud for my liking, not much wrong though there.

I really liked the changes in tempo changes, those fitted really well and was a nice touch. .

I think the notes lingered on a bit too much though, it was like you never took your foot off of the sustain key the whole way through, this becomes more audiable at the end where it just sounds like just notes bashed (because of the extra long sustain). Maybe turn the reverb down? (Maybe it's just me)

it doesn't sound finished to me, like you set it up and just ended so suddenly, what you have so far is good. . . but I did want more after, maybe consider extending it?

Nice submission, It's really 7.5, but we can't give that, so 7 it is xD.

Very nice.

As Fro has said, i can see this in many places, I really liked this and it's really something you have here.

Drums were really good, but maybe consider 'fattening' them up a bit, it's not really a big thing, but I just think it could give more of a drive to the piece as a whole - though it's fine as it is.

Melodic section was really nice, and the choice of instruments were pretty much spot on, the nice flue sound with the strings with the other small elements, thought it went really well. I just heard 1 dud note around ~:33, dunno it it was me, but to me it just didn't seem to go with the chord being played. (I think it was the C#)

Structure was really nice and it kept me wanting more. . but then MORE! It wasn't long enough ):, only thing there really, but it's on NG, I can loop eeet xD.

Overall it's a great tune, and it did wow me. I just picked up on a few little things, though even if you leave them unchanged, it'll still be pretty epic. I really like it and it's an awesome submission.

Stargenx responds:

That note was correct :\ I wouldn't have posted it if it had a wrong note in it.

o.o

I don't know about this one, it just seemed really random and didn't seem to go anywhere, no real structure or general feel.

Vocals sounded a bit random and just stuck in there. . I didn't really hear much of what the speaker was saying. I suppose it was good, but when the synth came in, it just didn't seem to fit to be honest.

Percussion was okay, don't really see much wrong there, maybe consider adding some more percussion to maybe brighten it up? (kind of like the end but but like, less overly reverb'd.

Synth section was okay, but just the same thing over again with nothing added to it gets pretty boring even if the tune is short.

It was okay, and has potential, but there's quite a bit of work to do in my opinion.
