Good stuff.

Again, another quality WIP from you Adam, it's a shame it's not finished because I can see this going somewhere. I love the ambience of it all, along with your use of effects on both synths and drums. I hope this is gonna be breakcore / IDM [hahahahahah joking, can be what you want- won't change my mind]. Keep it going, and finish it so I can 10 k?

Zageron responds:

Thanks very much Anwar. :]
I will continue my work on it over the holidays and see where I end up. :D

Thanks for the positive review.

7/4

Not much to comment on. I love it!

Shamukh responds:

Thanks you <3. Did you hear the one on soundcloud? Higher quality and longer version. :)

Nice work.

I don't like much dubstep, but this is pretty neat. . I would have preferred it to have gone into a "darker" part when the beat dropped. . It has the Megamon seal on it and I love it regardless. I hope you do finish this, it's pretty good and I can see a lot from it! :D

MSXOmega responds:

I actually wanted a darker feel at that part too, but being a noob at dubstep, all the stuff I tried ended up not working out. :P I'll try to finish it this weekend. Thanks for reviewing! :D

Oooh!

I think this a huge improvement from the last song you posted and I have a better grasp of where you're going with this. I like the overall ambience this tune has, I think the melodic section is perfect, maybe would be nice to see some audio effects on top of them in the near future. . that would be my only suggestion there.

Sound effects were well timed and I liked the effect it gave off, sounded really trippy and I quite like that. Maybe consider adding more in the future for extra effect? (only a suggestion). . What is the voice sample saying? o.o nice work

Drums were good, but some times I thought it was lacking in terms of rhythmic placement, I mean there seemed to be "gaps" between the slices you put down and unless you doing glitc/DrillNBass then it doesn't make the best of listening (for me anyways). Also I notice you're using time stretching with the loops which is good, but I thought you had a bit too much of it, in this case I'd most certainly say less is more as as it's just raw drums with no layering it doesn't seem to work with the songs ambient aura.

Nothing much to say on the Melodic section- simple and effective.

Mechabloby responds:

I was intending to have a glitched drum sound so I hope that clears it up there. Also I may be improving, but I'm still a noob - you may have to explain to me what time stretching is. :(

The sample says "and now that should just about do it"

I'm glad you liked the melodic section, the effects (I wanted to keep it fairly minimal) and i hope this track was enjoyable overall. thanks for the review with the rather large score :)

Amazing.

Reminds me of Röyksopp stuff, and it's something that I could hear in a game etc. . Always nice to hear from you. How about you send this to me in 320 :D What software did you use (VSTs etc)? :3 Great stuff 10/10

Shamukh responds:

Thanks. :3

I used Ableton Live. Forgot what I used for most patches, but I'm sure NI Massive was used. Also, sendin 320 kbps, rofl.

Not bad.

Pretty good for the most part, I loved the atmosphere it gives off. . Not a doubt that it's there, for one it was a bit short for me, I mean this could be so much more than a minute and a quarter, I hope you do choose to extend this in the near future.

There was one more thing. I liked both the parts, but there didn't seem be something that linked the two together. Rest was good, no other complaints.

Just one suggestion: Maybe add some reverb to the Harpsichord at the beginning for a tad more atmosphere if you want (though that's just me).

Saw waves >_< Ahahahahahahahahahahahaha (just us two would get that XD) Loved the little bends there, really nice touch there.

Also, how did my crap inspire you? XD You amaze me man, I was gonna give you a 9, but I'm kind of in the swing for this and have been playing this for around 15 mins and I'm not tired of it :D Final score: 10

Anwar Louis rawr.

Birdinator99 responds:

I knew people would say it's too short haha.

The beginning was supposed to be like super-old-school 17th century style, so I didn't want to reverb it, but perhaps it would have been a wise choice.

I just wanted the intro to be traditional, and then the rest to be my own style. I figured a couple minuted of harpsichord might get a tad boring :p

Nevertheless, I appreciate your feedback, and I'm astonished you listened to it for 15 minutes XD

Thanks very much for reviewing. Your stuff isn't crap, I assure you.

Rawr. That is all.

Nice work.

I love this, but I want to help you out so I'm gonna point a few things out to you so I can maybe give you a few pushes for future reference.

The drums seemed to sound as if they were filtered, I dunno if you did that (I don't think you did, but maybe you might wanna do some EQ/Compression). In all it just seemed to lack lower frequencies that for me give IDM/D&B that punch. . It would have been good for an opening, but for a short hard hitting tune I'd want the most effect out of it.

I love that drone in the background by the way, maybe consider adding something to it like the "howls" in Good Junge by Venetian Snares (I love that song too much xD) If you don't get what I mean, I can go into it for you in more detail later on.

The use of breaks you use where the vocals seem a bit mediocre when the vocals come in (just for the first 3 seconds, rest is fine). Also, I'm not sure the vox you put in fit after listening to it, seems a bit "ahahaha" which this song doesn't put in. . I mean breakcore/IDM can be funny as we know with stuff like Posers and Camera Phones along with the whole of the MSCL album (I like VSnares way too much). .Though for me, this is more serious and dark, not really funny. .

Glitches were excellent, I could learn a thing or two from you, and that's defiantly something major. . Most of the tune in terms of sequencing was spot on, and the little mini stops were really good, I'd maybe consider layering, I can explain that too if you wish :3.

Overall really good, you've come pretty far in such a short time and it's really cool you're getting into this. I wish you the best of luck man, and I'll be more than happy to help you. .

Oh and I had to REALLY be sceptical to come up with those downers, I actually really like this tune a lot heh, has potential. Shame it's only 40 something seconds, but it's a good'n. . Nice nice nice.

Anwar Louis ^_^

Mechabloby responds:

I was thinking about Good Jungle actually... it has those screams in the background and those pounding synths sort of, right? Well, this track is just the start - I may create something that intense in the future. :)

Also I didn't intend the vocals to be humorous - I guess I wanted a sort of eerie track... even if it is only 44 seconds in length. The drums at the part of the vocals are bland mainly because I didn't want anything too disruptive when I was singing :3

Thanks for the review. It's appreciated. :)

Nice stuff.

It's a good song, I like the 8bit feel. . It's always a good thing when you hear that, always has a sweet feel of nostalgia.

Honestly a good song all round, not many comments, it was good in it's own right. Loved the feel of it and the vibe it gave off. .

Just a couple of things I picked up, that amen break intro was not to my taste, maybe do some gran stretching? Seemed a bit to empty for me (just personal preference).

That synth that you had when it kicked in was good, it's just at sometimes it was a bit loud when it sort of swelled back in, nothing much. . I loved it, just a minor tweak from my perspective is needed.

One last thing, the tune ended a bit too suddenly for me, maybe a fade down. . so it gets a nice send off =P. . Great job overall, good stuff as always dude..

QUALITY :D

Anwar Louis ^_^.

garlagan responds:

Thanks a lot Anwar ! :D
About the intro yes, it's kinda empty but I feel like it fits good in the buildup.
The synth I thought it was fine with that volume, cause it's suppose to raise the track in that part! actually I pulled down the volume of that synth a little more when doing the mastering. But maybe I should low it some more, I'll try that and see how it works :D
And yes, about the ending I got no arguments XD I should improve that, I left it like that cause I wanted to keep a similar end to the one of the old version.
Thanks Anwar, your reviews are very helpful =)

Cool stuff

Only thing I'd say is the drum pattern for me didn't seem to fit the melodic section. . I mean I loved the odd snare rush etc, but it just didn't seem to be as aggressive or ambient as ambient as I would have liked it to be. . I mean this is coming from someone who likes Aphex Twin / Squarepusher and Venetain Snares too much XD.

To collaborate on what I said, I mean maybe make it IDM style with a lot less repetitive drums or maybe just choose more hard hitting drums. . Though I could still hear this in a video game like this .

Honestly, there isn't much need to change it, I just have my preference. It's very good and has a lot going for it. Well done dude ^^.

Anwar Louis ^_^

garlagan responds:

Thanks a lot man, very useful feedback :D
But actually I wanted to do some repetitive drums, don't know why XD
So someone who likes IDM wouldn't like too much this song D:
That's why I told you to check out Sleeping Darkness, not this one haha
Anyway you're right about the agresiveness of the drums. I felt the same when I did them. Maybe then I got used to them, this is why I left them like that XD

Oh man.

Venetian Snares would be proud. . Man, you know how to pull those glitches out. What software do you use dude? o.o

LLAAPPSSEE responds:
