I love it!

Before I start, why the heck is the score for this song so low? D:! I'll start by saying that I really wasn't expecting anything that you threw at me in this. The addition of that guitar was genius, and the way it the sound changed through out was (dare I say) EPIC!

Structurewise, I thought it was awesome. You don't get that many Seven~ minute songs that keep you hanging on the whole time, so I have no complaints there either. The ending was pretty sick too :D.

The little melodic synths in the background went very well with the guitar and though you could hear them, they wern't overpowering like I hear in a lot of music like this these days.

I loved the way you varied the drums ever so slightly on interval even if they were subtle. Seems very well thought out and kind of spaced the tune out quite a lot too. No complaints there either xD.

You've got this one down to a tee, and I have no complaints on this whatsoever. Only thing I would say is that, I think this more suits house than Techno (that's only me). Nothing short of a 10!

Hey, thanks for the kind words, glad you liked the song!

About the genre, personally I don't think there's a genre in the newgrounds list that would fit the genre of this song since it's a misture of electronic, rock and techno.

I (mistakenly?) thought, perhaps techno was the closest definition for this genre.

It's okay.

It was a good tune and once again I like your simplistic approach. The house elements were there and I loved the way you sort of morphed the two styles of old school and new age house together - that was awesome.

Though I liked the structure of the song, and the melodic elements like that kind of freaky piano thingy it just didn't seem to go anywhere. I know there was a little variation to it, but it didn't really deliver the punch I wanted, though the notes were fine.

I liked the sort of funny vocals, they were something new and sort of added something extra to the tune as a whole - it was just around 2:00 it started to get a bit monotonus to me (but that's just me).

I love the little effects that came in on interval, that's the real deal there and the one at the beginning was pretty sick, kind of reminded me of the old school vibe that the old '90s stuff gave off, so nice job.

Drums were nice and simplistic, good enough for me - nothing to say there but good hehe.

Overall, a good tune, I think there just needs to be a little more melodic variation. Nice song man.

My first review to the club too :P You seem to be striking lucky hehe, and you've made it a good start!

thanks for the review! and im currently working on this song so a final version will be uploaded soon

It's good.

Overall I thought it was good, structured really well and something I'd be able to listen to. I can also hear this being played by a live band :).

Overall melody (guitar and bass) were good through out, apart from where I heard a few off notes (maybe it's me), from 2:00 to 2:10. 9/10 there.

The Rhythm section to me seemed to lack umph, and though the riffs were pretty good, it just seemed to be a bit too far back in the mix for my liking and that sort of spoiled it.

Putting all that into perspective, I liked it and it was a good attempt - just a few little tweaks and you have it :)

Sawdust responds:

Thanks a lot man!

Nice.

I really like the general feel that came off, and it was really easy listening. I could most certainly hear this being played in a club (around where I live at least).

Percussion/Drums were simple but effective, something easy to hang onto. The little percs like bongos and clavs etc that came in on interval were really good in my opinion and were just something to 'keep my ears busy'.

Melodicly, it was simple but seemed to lack something like maybe something high pitched (but that's just me here, it's not a must). All the elements came together really well. Nothing much else to say there.

Mastering/Leveling in my opinion was pretty neat. Everything seemed to come together in a mix. Only thing I would say starved you of a 10 is that it took a bit long to build up and it for that build up the track wasn't long enough for the epic lead synth closer to the end. Not really much wrong, in fact I love it. It loops really well too.

Great work man, keep it up. I have you faved, but if you want anything reviewed just feel free to PM me as I don't get updated on my fave list :].

Mans0n responds:

Thanks for the awesome review! :) and yeah ill pm you sometime

Awesome :D

I love it, it feels longer than 36 seconds o.o (in a good way). . I love what you've done :D. Great first submission, I'm faving you as an artist :D

Thanks ChampionAnwar!!

Brilliant

The most played tune in my iTunes from the NG audio portal. I'm a sucker for smoothness like this, but this has an edge that I can't put my finger on. I listen to this everyday when I walk home from school at night, it just makes the journey home that little bit better :)

I love the way you mixed the synths and accoustic intstruments together, it really works well with the theme you're trying to put across, I just didn't understand the hospital receptionist bit haha - I leaned towards the night shift bit as this puts a picture of the night sky in my head, with the street lights and everything that you'd see on a nice evening.

I love the way this is structured with a hook that I can get into (that variates ever so slightly), and the little verses that come in on interval. All in all it flowed so well and I could listen to this for hours on end (I do already :x).

I like the raw timbre of the whole tune, seems to be very clean and untouched and though it's simple, it sounds leveled/mastered well. In a nutshell, this pwns!! (My fave part was from 0:50 to 1:16 hehe). . 10/10 5/5 to infinity xD!

YOU WIN!

I find this song very wierd to be honest, and I don't know why. Putting the wierdness aside, I though it was amazing, you kept me going through the whole track with the small changes, by taking things out and adding things in.

For some reason I enjoyed the things that kept going, it sort of kept the 'jive' going. Nice job, I enjoyed listening.

deliverance84 responds:

Thanx dude! Im glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for this review!!

What's this?

For such a simple tune I loved it, I don't hear much of this style these days, and it's great for you to bring back what seems to have been lost. I like the slow build up for some reason - it keeps me in suspense, and when the glitch part kicks in it's just bliss for me (I love glitchcore music), and to mix it up so well, great stuff.

The simplicity is just amazing, and how you made it work is breathtaking. . One of the best songs I've heard on newground to date and even while I'm typing this I can't help but bop my whole body to the beat, the samples or whatever you use in the background are pretty epic too.

Thanks for this one, this is going on my iPod, ambient taken to a new level, thanks for sharing this awesomenss. You only get a 9 because you said you hadn't finished, so I want to insta 10 you xD.

GunstarGreene responds:

Thanks for the positive feedback.

Glad you dig it.

Oh wow.

Genius I must say, this definatly fits the romantic genre and what a romantic scene it would be. I don't have anything to critisize on - in my opinion it's easy to listen to and it flows very well and softly. I love the use of dynamics and the chord progressions you used. To me that just builds a story in itself without one physicly being in front of me.

Something else I picked up that I really liked was the the transitions between the upbeat and the downbeat sections, I really liked them and after that I'm speachless. . I can't fault this, great work - I'll be proud to say I'll download this and add to my favorite list aswell as give you top marks :].

XayberOptix responds:

I have always believed that it takes a very inspiring story for one to write great music to and THAT is the only way I was able to come up with this piece. So, if you ever meet my sister in person one day, say thanks to her for lifting me musically with her book. :) There are also some other various scenes in her book that I will also be writing music to--so keep your ears open for them...

Got potential.

I'm slighly biased against the drum sample you're using (because it's on of the FL stock loops and I hear it quite a lot) , but that's not really a factor in it. I thought the drum section was really well thought out, and I liked the smooth vibe it gave off. Though I didn't really like the way it went from ear to ear all the time, maybe it's just me, but I don't really like it when drums are constantly switching ears. Those are only little things though.

The melody section was all right, though it seemed to stay the same, maybe change the chord progression or add another synth? It's just to me, a pad playing 2 chords for 2 minutes can get a bit repetitive and monotonous.

The things I've mentioned in my opinion are only little things and I'll say it's was nice to listen to. Good work, keep at it.

KingTornadoTalon911 responds:

Opinions Matter, So...I may do a remix of This If I'm tempted...
And I'll be sure not to Make the drums go from ear to Ear...83
